The Hyperflite Skyhoundz Canine Disc Championships are a series of
more than 100 Local Championships, seven (U.S.) Regional Qualifier Championships
and the World Championship (held each year in the United States). In addition,
enthusiasts from many other countries are getting involved in the sport with a
number of Skyhoundz competitions and World Championship Qualifiers taking place
internationally.
The year 2007 marks the 33rd consecutive year of canine
disc competitions. Hyperflite’s sponsorship of the Skyhoundz Canine Disc World
Championship series, the largest disc-dog series in the world, ensures that disc
dog competitors - world-wide - will have exciting venues in which to compete.
The
South Central Regional Championship, hosted by the
Dallas Dog & Disc Club,
will take place at the 3rd Annual Texas Outdoor Expo on May 5th. The
competition has a start time of 9:30am, registration beginning at 9am.
The
competition is open to anyone and includes a freestyle portion and a
distance and accuracy portion. The divisions include expert, novice, youth, and
microdog. A complete list of rules and guidelines can be found on the
Skyhoundz website.
The top 4
competitors in each division will receive invitations to compete in the world
finals in Atlanta, Georgia this September. Anyone with questions can contact the
Dallas Dog and Disc Club.
